When they purchased this aging bar-restaurant, our clients wanted to radically transform it so that it resonates with the unique spirit of Flaine. Located across from the famous Picasso in the forum, the place, still adorned with frisette and dark wood, was the opposite of the 'flainois' aesthetic.
We rethought the entire space in a way that respects the modernist architecture of the resort, without being able to alter the volumes: the location has thus been transformed into a 'tube', elongated and immersive. The color codes inspired by Vassarely guide the project, while a custom wallpaper, with white concrete prints, covers the walls and ceiling to evoke the iconic facades of the resort.
The vibrant palette of sculptures arranged in the forum inspired the choice of furniture and lighting to create a visual continuity between the outside and the inside. We freed the often-neglected ceiling height to insert backlit shelves that animate and structure the space with lightness.
The solvent-free matte paints Little Greene were chosen for their depth and ecological commitment. A project that is both graphic, radical, and respectful of Flaine's architectural history.
